Tips for Using Wooden Cutlery and Tableware
Compared with blunt cold plastic tableware,
warm wooden tableware preserved from the warm atmosphere of the earth, warm
color of the moist texture, not only to make food look particularly delicious,
but also give life a little more temperature.
However, wooden tableware`s surface light
brown luster will gradually dim after years of baptism, but also improper
cleaning caused deformation or mildew.
General wooden tableware can be divided
into lacquer kind and un-lacquer kind. Coated with a layer of paint can prevent
the wood by the external material intrusion, and maintenance or usage is also
more convenient, but you should pay attention to the surface of the raw
materials paint.
As for the 100% of logs, no artificial
coating of tableware, the biggest drawback is the fear of water. Wood itself has
invisible fine holes to the naked eye, the external water vapor, dirty, oily
grease is very easy to penetrate them, they are easy to moldy rot after
cleaning.
Since wooden tableware are so afraid of
water, should we not wash them if they are not dirty, or oiled?
This concept is wrong, even if they are not
dirty, not oil, but the naked eye can not see the food residue if not
thoroughly clean, It is easy to attract worms, cockroaches. Tableware as long
as the use of must be cleaned.
However, because wooden tableware is afraid
of water, so the cleaning way and store way are different from general
tableware. But following these tips, you can do it in an easier way.
Trick 1: Use eat baking soda, bitter tea
powder or tea water as cleanser. There is no difference in the way the
tableware is clean whether the lacquer is painted or not. You can use edible
baking soda powder, bitter tea powder to clean them. If the tableware is much
oily, you can use tea water or tea residue to clean them, tea contains
theophylline and could help to clean oil. You can soak the tableware into the
tea water or put the tea residue in a small filter bag to wipe the grease when
you cleaning wood tableware. In addition, wooden tableware could also be
cleaned by neutral detergent cleaning, but please pay attention to try not to
use a flavor of detergent because detergent will inevitably seep into the wood
of the fine hole.
Trick 2: Use a soft sponge, avoid soaking
too long Clean. It`s better to use a soft sponge to wipe off the oil gently. Please
don`t use Loofah cloth or steel ball to clean them, or wash them with other harder
fork, knife, dish board together. These materials are hard utensils and will peel
off the surface paint of wooden tableware. It is better not to soak for too
long when washing them. The soak time need be controlled in 5-10 minutes.
Trick 3: Dry them in a cool place after
washing the tableware. It is better to dry the water immediately, or put them
vertically in the dry shade place. Please be careful not to place them in high
temperature or water vapor, such as refrigerators, drinking fountains, rice
cookers, and do not recommend direct exposure. Excessive temperature or
excessive humidity will easy to make wood cracking, deformation or breeding
bacteria. You can also heat the oven for 5 minutes then turn off the power and
use the remaining temperature to quickly dry the wood cutlery.
Trick 4: Don't put them in an airtight
cabinet when you are not use them in a long time. The best place to store them
is the ventilation, cool place. Please do not recommend directly into the
airtight cabinet. In addition, please be attention that store them with other
metal tableware would easy be scratched if the wood is soft.
Trick 5: Regularly apply olive oil to
maintain wood, restore bright color. Wooden cutlery should be maintained on a
regular basis as well as skin. Tableware used for a long time will inevitably
lose the original wood of the bright color. Please regularly coated on the
tableware with a thin layer of olive oil, you can restore the luster of the
wood.

don`t use alcohol. High concentration of alcohol will damage the wood surface
coating. Please use 50~60℃ warm water if you want to sterilize.
